Blåkläppen easy/medium 5 km
Character of the tour: Easy hiking mountain forest and calf mountain
Length of the tour: approx. 5 km Tor
Total climb: approx. 200 m
Special for the tour: Nice view from the top where there is also a so-called saddle notch that forms a 10 meter deep ravine.
Things to think about/tips: Below the west side of Blåkläppen there is a reindeer fence that is used when marking the reindeer calves. An easy trip to do in good visibility but if the fog sets in it can be difficult to find as there are no clear paths to the top.
Tour map. Recommended map: Fjällkartan w 51. Height curves, equidistant 10 m.
Hiking description
The trip to Blåkläppen can be done as a return trip along the same road or as a tour drawn on the map. The starting point is STF Grövelsjön Fjällstation where you walk down the road towards Daniel's cottages where on the left there is a dirt road that leads up through the forest to some houses on the forest edge. You see Blåkläppen as a hill in the southeast. Now you hike in unpaved but easily hiked terrain towards the top, which is easy to find if the visibility is good. The top, which is divided by a 10-meter deep notch, offers a nice view in all directions. You can hike back the same way or keep your back from Blåkläppen in the north
direction towards Jakobshöjden to turn down and connect to one of the marked trails that go down towards Grövelsjön.
