Storvätteshågna from Lövåsen medium/difficult 22 km

Nature of the tour: Generally easy-hiking calf mountain tour where the climb and length make the tour more demanding than the terrain. Storvätteshågna is Svealand's highest peak.

Length of the tour: 22 km

Total ascent: approx. 500 m

Special for the tour: It is a varied hike where you pass the beautiful Foskån, get a fantastic view from the top of Storvätteshågna and pass the fishing-friendly Fosk lakes.

Things to think about/tips: In bad weather where you risk not having a view from the top, it is nice to follow Foskån on the east side up to the bridge at Övre Fosksjön and thus create a tour without climbing to the top.

Tour map. Recommended map: Fjällkartan w 51 Height curves, equidistant 10 m

Start: Stora parkingen at Lövåsen (N: 6882287 E: 0363782)

From the car park, you follow the path up towards the small embankment (Lövåsvallen) and then follow the summer trail towards Storvätteshågna.

After just over 1 km, the summer trail crosses the snowmobile trail towards Oskarstugan. Be observant so that you find the continuation of the summer trail after the meeting with the snowmobile trail. From the bridge at Foskån it is a constant climb to the top. Once down at the bridge at upper Fosksjön, you follow a clear but unmarked path along the western side of the lakes all the way back to Oskarstugan.

(N 6885941 E 0364034). From Oskarstugan you then follow the combined summer and winter trail
(marked with a cross) back to Lövåsen.
