Jakobshöjden 8-20km round trip
The first summit tour for the family with children, or an adventure in uncharted terrain.
The tour is partly along an unmarked trail, a map and compass are recommended. Remember to find out about weather conditions and any avalanche risk before you set off. Leave a travel message with a family member or friend. Feel free to use the Mountain Safety Council's app .

Touring skis with steel edge

Start at STF Grövelsjön, follow the marked winter trail up the calf mountain. Turn north towards Jakobshöjden when it levels out on top of Långfjället, 1040 m above sea level. 500 meter steep climb up to the top at 1103 m above sea level.
On Jakobshöjden there is a small shed that can provide shelter during a coffee break.
Ski the same way back, or continue north towards Pråahta. If you choose the latter, you can turn east at any time, down towards the cross-marked trail between Grövelsjön and Hävlingen. When you reach the trail, follow it south back to the mountain station.
