Start at Sjöstugan, depending on the direction of the wind, you choose whether you start walking along the debris path over the lake or up the mountain side.
In a northerly wind, ski the bridge over Grövlan and aim for Salsfjellet. Continue skiing through the pass between Sjöhöjden and Salsfjellet.
Here you can climb to the top of Salsfjället with a magnificent view of Valdalsfjällen, or up to Sjöhöjden with a wonderful view of the entire lake.
Continue down towards Sylen, by sloping down towards the lake, south of the summer trail down to the edge of the lake, follow the debris markings along the lake back to Sjöstugan.
With a southerly wind, it is better to start over the lake, so you have the wind at your back.
