The Valdal Mountains

Drive ca 13 km into Norway. Park at the old peat tipi. Where ever you chose to hike in this area, you’ll meet grand views over the Norwegian mountains, like Båthusberget and Rendalssølen

North you’ll find Rundhögda, 1120 m.a.s.l. with beautiful ravines. From here you can continue on to Lifjället, 1219 m.a.s.l.

Or take the marked trail to DNT Svukkuriset Mountain Station, and a climb to Storslåga at 1326 m.a.s.l.

You can also hike back to Grövelsjön via the fold either west or east of Rundhögda. Follow the valley south of Sushögda and as you reach Digerhogna you get an magnificent view of the Gröveldal valley and Långfjället mountain range.

Then just hike east to the reindeer fence, follow the trail to Sjöstugan at lake Grövlesjön’s south shore This hike offers a nice hike in open mountain terrain, with fantastic views.
