Start at Sjöstugan. Depending on the wind, you chose between following the marked snow mobile trail over the lake or following the mountainside.
With winds from the north, take the bridge over Grövlan, and aim for Salsfjället. Continue through the pass between Sjöhöjden and Salsfjället.
Here you can make a summit climb at Salsfjället with magnificent views over the Valdal Mountains. Or to Sjöhöjden with wonderful views of the entire lake.
Continue down to Sylen, traversing a bit south of the summer trail down to the shore of lake Grövelsjön, and then going back along the marked trial over the lake.
With southern winds it’s advisable to start skiing across the lake.
